About me

My name is Vaios Nikolitsas, I am 40 years old, I live in Greece and I am a native Greek speaker. I am proud to live in a mythical, beautiful and historical country, the land of gods and Socrates, and I am happy that I am going to teach you Greek, the mother of all languages!

I am a philologist, I have studied Literature and Languages and thus, I have a strong linguistic background. I have been teaching Modern Greek as a foreign language for more 10 years now.

Since 2010 I have taught people who visit Greece for holidays very often, people with a Greek family background who grew up abroad and they did not have the chance to learn the language, foreign people married to Greeks or people who moved to Greece for work or personal reasons or people who love Greece, its culture and language.

Although at the moment I am based in Greece, I teach people from all over the planet. I used to be a very traditional teacher and believed that teaching can only be done in person, however it is amazing that technology has given us the tools to learn whichever part of the world we live in. It's amazing we can do something like that, we would not be able to do it 20 years ago! Many people live abroad and do not know anyone who lives close to them and can help them with their learning. Fortunately, online teaching is the solution to this!

Besides language, I have a great passion for the Greek civilisation and I am more than excited to meet people from all over the world who share the same passion. I have a great interest in Greek architecture, history, religion and philosophy as well as food. Usually people from abroad are very interested not only in learning the language but also cultural things and I am happy when I realize that they benefit from this.

I am specialized in Ancient Greek and Latin too, classical languages have given me the linguistic background I need to do my job well, I speak English fluently as well as some Italian.
