What you should expect to learn!

Lesson 1: Introduction to the Greek alphabet. Learn the sounds of the letters. Read Greek syllables and words.

Lesson 2: Introduction to special sounds and letters not included in the alphabet. Read words and a short text in Greek for the first time.

Lesson 3: You have now attended two lessons, you met all the Greek spelling rules, you have done the work asked by the teacher and as a result, you are now able to read Greek! It is time now to learn greetings, how to introduce yourself, ask for somebody's name and where they are from. Learn the names of countries. 

Lesson 4: Your first contact with the Greek grammar. Verb "to be", " Numbers 0-10.

Lesson 5: Verbs ''to live", "to work", "to have". Questions: Where do you live? What's your job? How old are you? Numbers 10-100.

Lesson 6: Verb ''to speak''. Numbers 100-1000.

Lesson 7: The possessive pronoun (my, your, his, her, our, your, their). My family.

Task: Write a short essay in Greek about your family.

Lesson 8: Going shopping. Introduction to Greek nouns. Using ''this'' and ''do you like'' in Greek. 

Task: Write a dialogue between you and a Greek shop assistant!

Lesson 9: Nationalities and adjectives. 

Lesson 10: The accusative. Verbs ''to know'', ''to love''. 

Lesson 11: Verbs ''to go'', ''to say'', ''to eat'', ''to drink'', ''to listen'', ''to come'', ''to become'', ''to think''. 

Lesson 12: Telling the time. Verbs ''to start'', ''to finish'', ''to open'', ''to close'', ''to arrive'', ''to leave''. 

Lesson 13: The days of the week. Verbs ''can'', ''to drive'', ''to sleep'', ''to call'', ''to be sorry'', ''to remember'', ''to be afraid of''.

Lesson 14: Looking for a place or a shop. Asking for directions. ''Next to'', ''near'', ''behind'', ''far from'', ''in front of'', ''opposite'', ''left'', ''right'', ''straight''. 

Task: You are in Athens and you are looking for a hotel/museum/restaurant/bank etc. Write a short dialogue between you and a Greek person!

Lesson 15: Ordering a coffee, drink, food. Let's have a look at a Greek menu!

Task: Write a dialogue between you and a Greek waiter,

Lessons 16-20: A good revision is required so we make sure you know very well everything we have met so far. A variety of activities is included. 

Your spelling skills are now very good, if not perfect, and you know all the survival Greek you need.

Lesson 21: Plural of nouns and adjectives. 

''How many?'', ''Are there?'', ''a few'', ''many''. 

Fruit and vegetables in Greek. 

Lesson 22: Colors and clothes. Using "Do you like'' with plural nouns. 

Lesson 23: Future tense (regular verbs).

Lesson 24: Future tense (irregular verbs). 

Task: Write a short essay in future about your plans tomorrow/next week/month!

Lesson 25: Numericals. 

Lesson 26: The subjunctive. 

Lesson 27: Past tense. Task: Write a short essay in past describing what you did yesterday/last week/last month/last year.

Lesson 28: Personal pronouns. 

Lesson 29: The weather. The months of the year. The seasons.

Task: Write a short essay describing the weather in your country throughout the whole year.

Lesson 30: Comparative and superlative. 

Lesson 32: Conditional. Write a short essay describing what you are going to do this summer if you visit a Greek island.

Lesson 33: Imperative. 

Lessons 34 - 40: Very good revision, grammar exercises, read, translate and produce a variety of texts. 

Your spelling skills are now perfect, you have a good understanding of Greek grammar and you know a good bunch of vocabulary.

Lesson 44: The imperfect. Write an essay in Imperfect!

Lesson 45: Present Perfect. Write an essay in Present Perfect!

Lesson 46: Pluperfect. Write an essay in Pluperfect!

Lesson 47: Indirect speech. 

Lesson 48: Future continuous. Write an essay in Future Continuous!

Lesson 49: Conditional (type B). 

Lesson 50: Conjunctions. 

Lesson 51: Sentences with ''when'', ''while'', ''after'', etc. 

Lesson 52: Passive voice.

All lessons include a lot of oral conversation with the teacher, grammar activities, reading and translating texts.
